Nox Hotels opened at their newest and largest location in London last year, following the redevelopment of a site in Waterloo. The new flagship is located on Lower Marsh Street.
Around 1000m2 of Eurobrick’s popular X-Clad system was installed on the project, by Vasidan Limited, following demolition of the previous 3-storey terraced buildings which were replaced with a new steel framed structure to create a 4-storey building with basement.
Eurobrick has over 30 years’ experience and provides a wide range of brick finishes to accompany their cladding systems. On this particular project, London Original Stock and EBS Sanded Red Stock brick slips, corners and specially cut headers were used, from Eurobrick’s Classic Range, and finished with Eurobrick’s specially formulated Europoint mortar in Light Sandstone.
Brick slip cladding is a flexible finish that allows for some creativity. A number of design details can be seen on this project, particularly on the corner elevation of the building where the London Original Stock slips were laid with areas of stretcher bond and areas of English bond with a Sanded Red Stock feature detail. Eurobrick also supplied made to order flat gauge arches for the window head details.
The project, by Abbey One Hotels, provides a 4-storey mixed use development including the 50 bed boutique style hotel, flexible retail/hospitality units at the ground floor and 3 residential units on the fourth floor. The result is a highly effective traditional look, in keeping with the surrounding area.
